Apple Adds Standalone Siri App in iOS 27 as Chatbot Gains Deeper Personal Data Access

iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS 27 will debut a standalone Siri app, giving Apple’s assistant its first dedicated interface as it shifts toward a chatbot model.
Siri’s upgrade centers on web-backed answers and broader task handling, including summarizing files, generating content and images, writing messages, and searching both the web and on-device material.
Apple is also expanding Siri’s personal context: it will be able to draw on emails, texts, photos, calendars, contacts and notes, while remaining integrated at the system level and inside apps such as Mail, Messages, Photos and Apple TV.
The new app is expected to mirror ChatGPT-style products with text and voice chat, file attachments, suggested prompts, linked responses and a history view for past conversations.
WWDC 2026 begins June 8 at 10 a.m. Pacific, where Apple is expected to unveil the redesigned dark-themed Siri experience across its platforms.
