Bleecker Street’s R-rated 92-minute comedy opens June 12 after debuting as NewFest’s opening-night film, led by RuPaul as President Judy Gagwell and by Ginger Minj and Jujubee as best friends Tess and DeeDee.
The plot sends the Glamazonian Express into a “stormaganza” after a lightning strike kills the brakes, forcing Tess and DeeDee to steer the train away from disaster while workplace rivalries and a budding romance play out onboard.
The review says the film leans hard into Airplane!-style parody and Drag Race camp, with jokes aimed squarely at LGBTQ audiences and a large ensemble that includes Rachel Bloom, Matt Rogers, Chris Parnell and Sarah Michelle Gellar.
