Nedbank Business Ignite 2026 has opened entries for South African entrepreneurs with annual turnover of R1 million to R30 million, seeking founders whose businesses grew from personal challenges into community-focused solutions.
R200,000 in cash and R200,000 in radio advertising on 702 or CapeTalk will go to each overall winner, with 15 finalists per station to be honored at two gala award evenings in July 2026.
Five judging criteria will shape the competition: authenticity of the founder story, problem-solution fit, market validity and scalability, resilience and conviction, and social or community impact.
A newly enhanced website and entry form, plus a podcast series hosted by business coach Thuli Magubane, are meant to widen access and help participants sharpen their strategies.
The program is framed against South Africa's high unemployment, rising costs, infrastructure constraints and limited credit access, positioning entrepreneurship as a route to economic opportunity and social impact.
