Canada Stresses Integrated Energy Market Ahead of Tuesday Trade Talks With USTR

Dominic LeBlanc’s office put the “highly integrated North American energy market” at the center of Canada’s message before his Washington meeting with U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.
Tuesday’s talks will also include Janice Charette, Canada’s chief negotiator to the U.S., with LeBlanc and Charette scheduled to return to Ottawa the same day.
The trip comes as pressure builds on Prime Minister Mark Carney’s government to show Canada remains actively engaged with Washington on trade.
