Arkansans can now store and present driver’s licenses and state IDs in Apple Wallet on iPhone and Apple Watch, the state Department of Finance and Administration said Wednesday.
More than 250 TSA airport checkpoints nationwide already accept the digital IDs, and University of Arkansas stadiums and arenas will begin accepting them for eligible purchases this fall.
Apple Wallet users can present IDs in person, online and in apps, with each data request shown before release and approved through Face ID or Touch ID.
The launch expands Arkansas’ Mobile ID rollout from last year, though the state said residents should still carry physical licenses because mobile IDs are not yet accepted everywhere.
