Twitch Tests Dual-Format Streaming, Expands 1440p to All Partners and Affiliates

Twitch began beta testing Dual Format Streaming, letting the same live broadcast appear in landscape on PCs and TVs and in portrait on vertically held smartphones.
The feature is already viewable by all audiences, while streamers must opt into the beta; supported tools include OBS Studio 31.1.2 or later, Streamlabs, Streamrun and XSplit.
Portrait creators need to design around Twitch’s interface, with the top 48 pixels reserved for the header and the lower half shared with chat and other on-screen elements.
At TwitchCon Rotterdam 2026, Twitch also rolled out 1440p streaming for all partners and affiliates, plus a summary feature for viewers joining midstream and improved live-start notifications.
