Apple Readies $2,000 Foldable iPhone Ultra for September With Vapor Chamber Cooling

September remains the expected launch window for Apple’s first foldable iPhone even as pre-assembly manufacturing comes under pressure and the initial production ramp proves difficult, leaker Fixed Focus Digital said.
Vapor chamber cooling is now tipped for the device for the first time, with the leaker calling its thermal performance strong despite the engineering constraints of an ultra-thin foldable design.
At 4.5mm when folded, the iPhone Ultra is rumored to drop at least five iPhone 17 Pro features, including Face ID, a telephoto camera, MagSafe, the Action Button and a physical SIM slot.
Apple adopted vapor chamber cooling on the iPhone 17 Pro last year, saying it delivered 40% better sustained performance than earlier graphite systems.
The foldable is still expected to enter mass production in July and debut this fall with a 7.8-inch inner display, A20 chip and a starting price around $2,000.
