Chicago sent 20-year-old forward prospect Jack Pridham’s rights to Tampa Bay for a 2027 third-round pick hours before a 5 p.m. ET deadline that would have sent him back into the 2026 draft.
Tampa Bay said Pridham has committed to a college still to be named, a move that lets the Lightning hold his rights longer instead of needing an immediate entry-level contract.
Pridham boosted his value with 46 goals and 90 points in 65 OHL games for Kitchener, then helped the Rangers win both the OHL title and Sunday’s Memorial Cup.
Chicago had drafted him No. 92 overall in 2024, and The Athletic ranked him the Blackhawks’ No. 13 prospect in April.
