A reported 2027 release is now attached to Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro's greenlit Baldur's Gate 2 remake, with original co-lead designer Kevin Martens said to be contributing.
Baldur's Gate 3's 2023 breakout success appears to be driving the move, giving Hasbro a way to extend the franchise after Larian shifted to other projects.
The remake is expected to go well beyond the 2013 Enhanced Edition, potentially overhauling visuals, audio and gameplay and even moving the classic RPG toward D&D 5th Edition.
