Eugene Daniels said Graham Platner’s team pulled a planned appearance on MS NOW’s “The Weekend” after new reports alleged the Maine Senate candidate sent explicit messages to at least six women while married.
Platner’s campaign disputed that account, saying no interview was ever scheduled and that he spent Sunday at back-to-back campaign events talking with voters in Maine.
Amy Gertner, Platner’s wife, released a 5-minute video condemning what she called gossip and pointing to the strain of infertility and a Senate campaign, but she did not directly deny the messaging allegations.
Daniels said the texts were not mere rumor because Gertner herself had shared them with the campaign, and he argued the latest episode added to a pattern of controversies already dogging Platner’s candidacy.
