Four Delaware State University students arrested after the May 19 Rehoboth Beach takeover had their riot-related and conspiracy charges dropped by the Delaware Department of Justice.
Attorney General Kathy Jennings said prosecutors found "no factual basis" for the case against Xander Nicholl, Angelin Clauvil, Eric Barnett and Keyon Scott.
The arrests followed a social-media-promoted gathering that drew hundreds of young people to the beach and boardwalk, triggering arrests for underage drinking, drug use and disorderly conduct while some businesses closed early.
Rehoboth Beach officials said they had not been contacted by the DOJ about the dismissals, questioned whether all facts had been reviewed and sought a meeting with the NAACP Delaware State Conference of Branches.
