Thames Valley Police are examining an alleged 2002 Royal Ascot incident involving Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor as part of a wider investigation into possible sexual misconduct, corruption and fraud.
The new line of inquiry follows his Feb. 19 arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office; police said a man in his 60s from Norfolk was questioned, released under investigation, and had Berkshire and Norfolk addresses searched.
Investigators said they are working with the U.S. Department of Justice, consulting the Crown Prosecution Service and speaking to witnesses while not confirming identities.
The Ascot allegation adds to scrutiny already centered on claims tied to Jeffrey Epstein, including reports police were assessing whether a woman was sent to have sex with a man appearing to be Andrew at Windsor in 2010.
Andrew was stripped of royal titles on Oct. 30, 2025, and Buckingham Palace has said it does not answer for him because he is no longer a working royal.
With a high legal bar for conviction, will Andrew face consequences beyond just losing his royal titles?
As the Epstein probe widens in the UK, which other powerful figures could be the next to fall?
