George Procopiou said the Iran war has been a boon for shipping, describing stronger conditions for tanker operators during the conflict.
The Dynacom Tankers founder said his fleet was among the few oil tanker operators that kept transiting the Strait of Hormuz throughout the war.
Speaking at the Capital Link Maritime Leaders Summit in Athens on June 1, Procopiou said Greek shipowners have a tradition of breaking blockades dating back to antiquity.
Procopiou also said President Donald Trump was helping shipping while trying to do "his best for the world," framing the war's disruption as commercially supportive for the sector.
