Three straight birdies over the final three holes lifted Russell Henley from three shots back into a playoff, and he beat Eric Cole on the first extra hole at the Charles Schwab Challenge.
A 15-foot birdie at No. 16, another from roughly the same range at 17 and a closing birdie at 18 flipped the tournament before Henley wedged his playoff approach inside 5 feet.
The 37-year-old earned his first PGA Tour victory in 14 months, his sixth overall, and pushed his career on-tour earnings past $50 million with the win at Colonial.
