June 23 is the launch date MSI gave for its Claw 8 EX AI+ after showing the premium gaming handheld at a pre-Computex event in Taipei.
The showcased configuration is expected to cost about $1,500—well above MSI’s roughly $800 handhelds from 2024—driven by the new Intel Arc G3 Extreme chip and broader component-cost pressure.
An M.2 2280 slot will let users upgrade storage more easily, while the device keeps up to 32GB of memory, an 80Wh battery and an 8-inch 1,920x1,200 120Hz touchscreen.
MSI also highlighted improved haptics and more ergonomic buttons and joysticks, though reports said the final pricing lineup may still include cheaper variants with lower specs.
The Claw 8 EX AI+ enters a growing premium handheld race, facing Arc G3 Extreme-based rivals including Acer’s Predator Atlas 8 and a OneXPlayer model.
