A.J. Brown is set to head to New England as soon as Monday afternoon, with Philadelphia receiving the Patriots' 2028 first-round pick and the deal expected to become official Tuesday.
The trade lets the Eagles escape $133.1 million in remaining cash obligations, after cap consequences beyond 2026 grew harder to manage and Brown's relationship with the team had effectively ended.
Philadelphia had little leverage in the talks because no other serious trade partner emerged, making the Patriots the only viable landing spot as the post-June 1 window opened.
The move follows earlier reports that waiting until after June 1 would also save the Eagles about $7 million in 2026 cap space by spreading dead money over two seasons.
