Macapa providers can now offer broadband of up to 2 Gbps after Brazil inaugurated Infovia 03 on June 1, doubling the previous top speed of 1 Gbps in Amapa.
Afua in Para, on Marajo Island, is also set to benefit as connections rise from 300 Mbps delivered by radio to 750 Mbps through fibre-optic cable.
The new route is designed to cut outages in both Amapa and Para by adding another access path, extending the project beyond faster speeds to network resilience.
