Morocco Secures Record €1.3 Billion AfDB Financing, Including €270 Million for 4 Airports

€1.3 billion in African Development Bank financing marks Morocco's biggest annual package from the lender, aimed at speeding economic transformation, resilience and green investment.
€420 million goes to infrastructure and connectivity, including €270 million for upgrades at Marrakech, Agadir, Tangier and Fez airports as travel demand rises.
Another €150 million will flow through the Municipal Equipment Fund for water, sanitation, schools, mobility and climate-resilient local infrastructure, while €182 million targets governance, water and energy systems.
AfDB also set aside €119 million for entrepreneurs and small businesses, €100 million for rural development and agriculture, and more than €200 million for youth and women's skills programmes.
A separate €450 million partial credit guarantee for OCP Group is expected to unlock up to €530 million in additional green financing for renewable energy, water sustainability and climate-resilient agriculture.
