Zelenskyy called on U.S. tech firms to move quickly from talks to deals, saying Ukraine’s battlefield drone know-how and American AI capabilities could form a uniquely powerful defense partnership.
Four years into Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukraine has built low-cost drone and counter-drone systems, including three homegrown drone types it says struck near Moscow earlier this month.
That combat experience has turned Ukraine into a live testing ground: hundreds of foreign companies have applied through the state-backed Test in Ukraine program to trial drones, AI, electronic warfare tools, naval drones and ground robots.
The push comes as Silicon Valley defense startups such as Anduril raise billions for autonomous weapons and as the Pentagon accelerates interest in AI-driven military technology.
