Tamil Nadu's former BJP chief K Annamalai is preparing a new state-level movement focused on grassroots mobilisation rather than an immediate electoral vehicle.
At least the next 6 months are expected to be party-free, with the initiative aimed at uniting like-minded people, building a volunteer network and grooming future political leaders.
Annamalai, a former IPS officer who entered politics in 2020, led the Tamil Nadu BJP from 2021 to 2025 after replacing L Murugan.
The move comes as speculation swirls over his political future after stepping down from the state BJP post, though the report says Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains a key inspiration and Annamalai already runs the non-profit We The Leaders.
