Jesús Sánchez left Toronto's 9-5 loss to Baltimore in the sixth inning after a ball thrown from the right-field stands struck his right wrist at Camden Yards.
X-rays were negative, and the Blue Jays said the injury was a bruised right wrist after Sánchez went 1-for-2 before being replaced by Yohendrick Piñango.
Fans near the play told the Baltimore Sun a roughly 13-year-old threw the ball accidentally, thinking Sánchez was asking to play catch before he turned away.
The Orioles said the fan was identified and removed from the ballpark while the club investigates what happened.
