One person died at a hospital after a two-car crash on the outbound Dan Ryan Expressway near 18th Street at about 3:47 a.m. Sunday; another person was hospitalized with injuries.
Illinois State Police said the wreck involved two vehicles on I-90/94, but released no further details on the cause or the people involved.
All outbound lanes were closed from 4:19 a.m. until about 7:45 a.m., with traffic backing up on the expressway during the morning shutdown.
