Kentucky Beats West Virginia 11-9, Moves 1 Win From 4th Super Regional

Kentucky moved to 2-0 in the Morgantown Regional with an 11-9 win over host West Virginia, leaving the Wildcats one victory from the program’s fourth Super Regional berth.
A three-run eighth inning decided it after Kentucky blew an early 6-0 lead and was tied 8-8. Luke Lawrence’s RBI double put UK ahead 9-8, and Hudson Brown followed with a two-run single.
Lawrence finished 2-for-5 with his 13th double and two RBIs in what teammates called the biggest hit of his college career.
West Virginia and Wake Forest meet in Sunday’s elimination game at noon ET, with the winner facing Kentucky at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
Because Kentucky is unbeaten in the regional, it has two chances to clinch the spot in Super Regionals; if it loses Sunday, it would get a rematch Monday.
