Mackenzie Phillips, 66, said she and Valerie Bertinelli drank wine and used cocaine during lunch breaks while filming "One Day at a Time" as teenagers.
Phillips told Fox News Digital the drug use also extended to the set, saying they used cocaine in the dressing room and that she was the one who ultimately got caught.
She added Bertinelli has spoken openly about that period and said Bertinelli did not share her level of addiction, which Phillips said later strained their friendship.
The actresses, who began the sitcom at 15 and 14, stayed close over decades; Phillips said sobriety, faith and recovery work now shape how she talks about that era.
