Kerry-Lynne Findlay won the BC Conservative leadership on Sunday, taking 51% of points in the fourth and final round to defeat Caroline Elliott's 49%.
The narrow result came after Iain Black, Yuri Fulmer and Peter Milobar were eliminated in earlier rounds of the contest.
Findlay now takes over the opposition party as it seeks to turn a recent swell in popularity into a stronger challenge to Premier David Eby's left-leaning NDP government.
