Ella Bright, 19, said on a Tuesday podcast she had no doubts about taking "Off Campus" and felt fully informed about its partial nudity and sex scenes before filming.
The Prime Video star pushed back on criticism over her nearly 10-year age gap with co-star Belmont Cameli, 28, saying she felt comfortable on set and never excluded for being younger.
Bright said the show's nudity levels were set by character from the start: Hannah's role involved partial nudity, while co-star Mika Abdalla's Allie was written for full nudity.
Creator Louisa Levy had already told Variety she discussed the material with Bright before closing her deal and relied on intimacy coordinator Kathy Kadler to guide scenes involving the cast.
"Off Campus," adapted from Elle Kennedy's college romance books, debuted on Prime Video on May 13 and has drawn scrutiny because its college-student storyline includes explicit intimacy.
If a young actress feels safe and empowered, why does the audience still object to her on-screen nudity and age gap?
Now that intimacy coordinators are a union-backed role, are Hollywood's ethical dilemmas over filming intimate scenes finally resolved?
