Gudtrip AI Weed Vape Gives $2-$60 Bitcoin Once, Not on Every Puff

Gudtrip’s cannabis vape paid a one-time Bitcoin reward on activation—$2 in a tested device, with the company saying rewards range from $2 to $60—not per puff despite repeated marketing claims.
A $67 vape bought at an Oakland dispensary linked to Gudtrip’s app and tracked usage, but simulated puffing produced only loyalty points and no additional Bitcoin after the initial payout.
Gudtrip CTO Rishi Kommuri said per-consumption financial incentives would be illegal, describing the Bitcoin as an upfront loyalty reward and the in-app points as non-monetary and not redeemable for cash, crypto, or cannabis.
That explanation conflicted with Gudtrip’s website, social posts and in-store ads promising users could “earn Bitcoin from every single puff” or receive “ongoing Crypto Rewards over time.”
California’s cannabis regulator said it had not previously heard of Gudtrip and contacted the manufacturer, while archived pages suggest the company later softened language linking smoking directly to crypto rewards.
