$441 million buys Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport a seven-level Domestic Terminal South deck opening Monday, replacing a four-level structure more than 40 years old.
6,400 spaces in the new deck include covered daily and hourly parking, smart guidance lights, real-time availability tools, license plate readers and EV charging aimed at easing a long-criticized parking experience.
A new pedestrian skyway now links the deck to the South Terminal, while elevated departure drop-off lanes let travelers enter on the departures level rather than crossing arrival traffic.
The project arrives ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after running ahead of schedule since 2023; the old South deck is set to be demolished starting in August.
