June 16 is the release date Mojang gave for Minecraft’s Chaos Cubed update, the core game’s next content drop first unveiled at March’s Minecraft Live.
Sulfur drives the update: Mojang showed sulfur caves, springs, pools, spikes, plus sulfur and cinnabar block sets during its TwitchCon Rotterdam presentation.
Sulfur cubes remain the headline mechanic because they absorb the properties of materials they take in, opening up new gameplay combinations once the patch goes live.
Fall 2026 is the target for a separate third update centered on playing with friends, which will add a dappled forest and a rusted biome with poplar trees and an abandoned campsite.
