AAA turned WWE’s once-mocked El Grande angle into one of wrestling’s hottest feuds, with Chad Gable and Ludwig Kaiser now heading into a high-interest mask-vs.-mask showdown at Noche de Los Grandes.
Millions of views on clips of their face-offs and intense crowd reactions in Mexico helped push the storyline from a ridiculed 2025 debut into a viral draw that is also attracting U.S. curiosity.
WWE’s extended-universe strategy gets some validation because moving the feud to AAA gave two mid-carders room to become stars outside the constraints of Raw and SmackDown.
Live WWE crowds have still given the El Grande characters muted reactions on Raw, raising doubts about whether AAA momentum can translate back to WWE’s main roster.
