Laredo Kid had beaten Fenix on AAA on Fox on May 23 and nearly repeated it, using an exposed turnbuckle, a low blow and a frog splash before Fenix rallied.
The finish turned on Kid's own tactics: Fenix sent the champion into the uncovered turnbuckle, then hit the decisive Muscle Buster for the title change.
The win ends Laredo Kid's 539-day reign and advances a rivalry that had intensified over the previous week.
