FBI Declines Charges After Passenger Forces Emergency Landing on United Flight at 9 p.m.

No criminal charges are being pursued after a United Airlines flight from Chicago to Minneapolis was diverted to Madison late Friday, where deputies detained the passenger on landing.
The FBI said its initial investigation found the man appeared confused and in a mental health crisis, and no one was injured in the incident.
Around 9 p.m., the FBI was notified and the Dane County Sheriff's Office responded at Dane County Regional Airport while the Milwaukee Madison Resident Agency took over the investigation.
The remaining passengers later resumed their trip to Minneapolis, and the passenger's family from Minnesota was contacted and is traveling to Madison to reunite with him.
