A 1,034,818-square-foot industrial warehouse proposal has been filed for the 66.18-acre Wild Waves Theme Park property in Federal Way as the park begins its final season.
Project documents show a one-story building with office space, 46-foot height, truck courts on both sides and three Milton Road South driveways for cars and semi-trucks.
The plan separates truck and passenger traffic and adds landscaped buffers, retained trees, fencing, sidewalks, benches and parking for up to 24 bicycles near neighboring residential properties.
Wild Waves said in December that it will close permanently on Nov. 1, 2026 after rising operating costs and years of post-pandemic losses, opening the longtime amusement site to redevelopment.

Are warehouses the only future for beloved landmarks, or are cities overlooking more community-friendly economic solutions?
