Acer's new Iconia Duo lineup brings three Android 16 tablets to North America this summer, led by the 14.2-inch S14 arriving in September and 12.2-inch S12 and D12 models in August.
The push targets Samsung's dominance in large Android tablets, with Acer emphasizing a 3:2 display ratio, OLED panels on the S14 and S12, and chips ranging from MediaTek's Dimensity 8300 to Helio G99.
The S12 is not just a smaller S14: it keeps a 2.8K OLED screen but drops to a Dimensity 7400, while the entry D12 pairs a 2400x1600 LCD with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
Acer also used the pre-show announcement ahead of the June 2 event to reveal AR glasses and Gemini-powered AI glasses, broadening the launch beyond tablets.
The hardware gives U.S. buyers a rare alternative to Samsung's 14.6-inch Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, though the report notes Android tablet software still lags in areas such as video editing.
As Samsung promises seven years of updates, can Acer's new premium Android tablets truly compete?
