Trump Weighs Scrapping 16-Day Freedom 250 Concerts for National Mall Rally After 5 Artists Exit

Trump said Saturday he may cancel the Freedom 250 concert series on Washington’s National Mall and replace it with an “AMERICA IS BACK” speech and political-style rally.
Five performers have now withdrawn, including Bret Michaels on Friday, after concerns the event was not the nonpartisan celebration some artists believed they had joined.
The concerts were part of a 16-day Great American State Fair scheduled for June 25 to July 10, stretching from the U.S. Capitol to the Washington Monument with stages, pavilions, exhibits and rides.
Freedom 250 — a White House-backed public-private partnership for the U.S. 250th anniversary — has not said whether it will recruit replacement musicians or seriously pursue Trump’s rally proposal.
