Italian authorities scrapped Ye and Travis Scott concerts set for July 17-18 in Reggio Emilia, saying the move was needed to protect public order and safety.
A prefecture statement cited security risks, possible counterdemonstrations and objections from the local Jewish community and a consumer rights group over Ye’s antisemitic record.
The festival venue could hold about 103,000 spectators, adding to concerns around crowd control; Scott’s safety history remains under scrutiny after the 2021 Astroworld crush that killed 10 people.
The cancellation extends Ye’s mounting isolation in Europe and beyond: Britain and Australia have blocked his entry, Poland canceled one show, and a planned June concert in southern France was postponed.
