Google Drive’s redesigned scanner is now rolling out with Smart Batch Scanning, letting users capture multiple pages continuously instead of snapping them one by one.
On-device AI adds Auto-Best Frame to replace blurry shots and Duplicate Detection to skip repeated pages, while local processing brings faster performance, offline use and stronger privacy.
Google also refreshed the interface with a Material 3 Expressive viewfinder, removed the older cluttered controls and added pause and file-picker options for more manual control.
