Hours after Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche vowed the suspect would be found, the FBI arrested a man accused of threatening to kill an ICE officer's wife and children during Thursday's protest outside Newark's Delaney Hall detention center.
Video captured the protester shouting that the officer's "whole f---ing family" was dead while the officer was standing at the scene, conduct Blanche said amounted to a federal crime.
Nine rioters were arrested Thursday after roughly 100 protesters clashed with federal agents, who used pepper spray as demonstrators allegedly bit, kicked and punched officers.
The unrest followed a similar Wednesday confrontation that led to six arrests and came during a sixth straight night of protests over detainees' claims of poor conditions—allegations DHS denies.
