$699 is Acer's starting U.S. price for the new Swift Air 14, a Windows response to Apple's MacBook Neo that reaches North America in August.
14-inch Swift Air 14 uses Intel Core Series 3 and offers a 120Hz 1,920x1,200 display, up to 16GB RAM, up to 512GB SSD, two Thunderbolt 4 ports and up to 19 hours of video playback.
Qualcomm this week added the Snapdragon C for entry-tier laptops priced at $300 and up, with Acer, HP and Lenovo committed to ship systems later this year.
Acer also previewed the Aspire Go 15 as the first Snapdragon C laptop, pairing a 15.6-inch 1080p display with up to 8GB RAM and 512GB storage, though pricing and launch timing were not disclosed.
Apple's MacBook Neo starts at $599—or $499 for education buyers—and CEO Tim Cook said demand was 'off the charts,' helping drive a record number of first-time Mac buyers.
