Sunny Hostin said on "The View" that Jill Biden should have privately urged Joe Biden not to seek a second term, arguing she must have seen signs of decline before the June 2024 debate.
Jill Biden, in a CBS interview airing Sunday, said she had not seen that version of her husband before and feared during the debate that he might be having a stroke.
Sara Haines backed the criticism, saying that if Jill Biden believed something that serious was happening, the immediate response should have been to end the campaign.
The exchange revived scrutiny of how Biden's age was handled after the 2024 debate, which led him to drop out weeks later and fueled complaints about secrecy inside the Democratic Party.
That criticism also cuts against the Bidens' 2025 appearance on "The View," when both rejected books and reports alleging his health had declined in office.
