Google’s new Gemini Spark produced a five-page birthday itinerary in minutes after getting access to Gmail, Docs and Calendar, pulling the real karaoke booking and a 15-person guest list from the user’s data.
The agent’s most glaring miss was social context: it ranked the author’s live-in partner as a “close friend and frequent companion” and even left the birthday host off his own guest list.
Spark also exposed how deeply it mines personal records, citing emails, travel documents and the last four digits tied to a $50 deposit, while suggesting venues based on past transactions and messages.
Task automation was uneven: it drafted and sent a test invite after approval, but failed to complete a restaurant booking despite opening a remote browser and triggering a six-digit verification code.
Google began rolling out the beta this week to AI Ultra subscribers paying $100 a month, while warning that connected agents remain vulnerable to prompt-injection attacks that could leak private data.
