Rep. Don Bacon renewed his push for the U.N. General Assembly to remove Russia from the Security Council, calling Moscow a “pariah state” in a Friday post on X.
Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine and what Bacon described as crimes against humanity drove the demand; he has repeated the call since at least February 2022 and again in December 2023.
Bacon tied the U.N. push to broader pressure on Moscow, arguing Russia is losing on the battlefield and in the Black Sea while relying on strikes against Ukrainian cities and civilians.
He also pressed for more U.S. military aid and sanctions, saying the House will vote on that package in two weeks as Ukraine expands drone production to counter Russian attacks.
