June 9 is the target for Euro-Office’s first stable release, with Nextcloud saying its licensing clash with OnlyOffice is resolved after agreeing to credit OnlyOffice as the source of part of the code.
OnlyOffice disputed that account, saying it has not entered any agreement with the Euro-Office project and will keep assessing compliance with its licensing and trademark terms.
Nextcloud argued a recent OnlyOffice policy update removed trademark requirements that conflicted with AGPL v3, and said it will adopt those code changes while preserving license compliance.
Nextcloud plans to offer Euro-Office in Nextcloud Office next month alongside Collabora-based software, while Ionos will add it to parts of its workspace and cloud subscriptions.
Launched in March as a European open-source alternative to Microsoft and Google tools, Euro-Office includes browser-based document, spreadsheet, presentation and PDF apps, with desktop and mobile versions due later this summer.
