Only 51.3% of the UN's $308.3 million flash appeal for Lebanon had been funded by May 26, leaving aid agencies short of cash for March-May emergency operations.

1.24 million people in Lebanon—almost one in four—are projected to face acute food insecurity between April and August, while 22% of farmland in affected areas has been damaged.
More than 3,213 people have been killed and over 1 million displaced since the latest Israel-Hezbollah escalation began in early March, despite a US-brokered ceasefire extended on May 15.
That fighting is also straining Lebanese politics and diplomacy, with Hezbollah resisting disarmament, Israel intensifying strikes, and direct Lebanon-Israel talks due in Washington on June 2-3.
