May 31 at 23:59 EAT is the submission deadline for UNDP Tanzania’s fifth FUNGUO Innovation Programme call, aimed at youth-led startups and MSMEs seeking catalytic, non-equity support.
The programme targets Tanzania’s “missing middle” — ventures beyond ideation and pilot stage that have revenue traction but still struggle to access bank lending or venture capital.
Eligible applicants must be legally incorporated in Tanzania, at least 51% Tanzanian-owned, and have raised no more than $100,000 in total equity or debt funding.
Selected firms will receive performance-based grants, investment-readiness training, business development support and exposure to regional and global investors.
Backed by the EU, the UK’s FCDO and Finland, the initiative is part of a broader push to expand jobs, inclusion, climate action and digital transformation in Tanzania’s startup ecosystem.
