Shenzhou-21 formally transferred control of China’s space station to the newly arrived Shenzhou-23 crew on Thursday, clearing the way for its return to Earth after nearly seven months in orbit.
Dongfeng Landing Site has finished final return preparations, including a second full-system drill on Wednesday that tested command, search-and-rescue coordination and emergency support.

Shenzhou-21’s return capsule is set to touch down at Dongfeng, concluding the mission as China maintains continuous crewed occupancy of its space station through the crew rotation.
