Seven MARTA rail stations have received new flooring, brighter wall surfaces, lighting, elevators, benches and other upgrades under a $1 billion systemwide rehabilitation plan.
The work is aimed at making Atlanta's nearly 50-year-old heavy rail network safer, cleaner and more reliable as MARTA renovates all 38 stations.
Indian Creek Station now includes a new pedestrian bridge linking Durham Park Road to the station's north end, which MARTA says cuts travel time and improves safe, accessible access.
Driver platform booths, restrooms, deep cleaning, landscaping and other improvements are also intended to help operations stay on schedule while improving the rider experience.
APTA estimates a $1 billion public transit investment supports 41,000 jobs, underscoring MARTA's broader economic and access-to-opportunity pitch for the program.
