Washington’s first Phase III OTA looked more like training camp than a light spring session, with players saying the tempo and urgency jumped as the team tries to avoid a repeat of 2025.
Jayden Daniels worked far more from under center in David Blough’s new offense, hitting Terry McLaurin on a long play-action completion as coaches added huddles, motion and bootlegs.
McLaurin’s return to voluntary work and Laremy Tunsil’s surprise attendance — even as an observer — stood out after last offseason’s absences and were cited as tone-setting signs of buy-in.
Several injured players remained sidelined, including Dorance Armstrong, Deatrich Wise Jr. and Trey Amos, while Jacory Croskey-Merritt also did not practice for an unclear reason.
Early position battles also surfaced: kicker Ramiz Ahmed Stevens went 6-for-6 with a 53-yarder, Cade York Moody hit 5-of-6, and Treylon Burks opened with the starting receivers.
Is Washington's high-intensity OTA a sign of revival or just a recipe for more injuries?
With a new system and a 'prove-it' deal, can Treylon Burks finally live up to his first-round hype?
Is Laremy Tunsil's record contract a masterstroke or a cap-space gamble for the Commanders?
