June 9 will bring Destiny 2’s last live-service additions, and Bungie says the update restores the Destination map, refreshes loot across nine pre-Edge of Fate destinations, and adds a new rotating Distortions activity.
Classic gear drives much of the patch: destination weapons get updated perks and origin traits, the world pool pulls from older seasons, and Bungie teased Warmind Cells, a Xenophage catalyst, and a possible aerial Titan thruster rework.
Core playlists are also being reworked, with The Portal simplifying reward tiers, Ops getting separate loot pools, Gambit regaining legacy weapons, and Onslaught, Contest of Elders, and The Coil shifting to easier early rounds and escalating difficulty.
PvP and event support will continue in fixed rotations after closure, including refreshed Iron Banner and Trials rewards, Heavy Metal adding a new map and walker, and Sparrow Racing League returning with five maps plus its own armor and weapons.
Bungie said more details are still coming in separate sandbox, raid, and dungeon articles, underscoring how much planned content is arriving just before Destiny 2’s live-service support ends.
