Warp Records said it and Boards of Canada do not condone the White House’s unauthorized use of “Deep Time” in a Trump promotional video posted on official social accounts.
The video paired windblown flags, detention centers and a border patrol boat with the track from Inferno, the Scottish duo’s first album in 13 years.
The White House clip also echoed Boards of Canada’s signature VHS-style visuals, a look tied to the song’s earlier “Tape 05” release and recent album videos.
Inferno is due out Friday, turning the dispute into an immediate flashpoint around the duo’s long-awaited return.
